CO2 AI
A new product for a new revenue stream
Principal Product Designer from 2023 to 2024
Context
CO2 AI measures the carbon emissions of large companies (CCF). In 2024, the company is seeking a new acquisition avenue: measuring emissions at the product level (PCF: Product Carbon Footprint), in a non-existent, highly regulated market, with massive and sensitive data.
Problem
No product reference in the market. Teams are mostly absorbed by the CCF. The PCF squad: 3 people: a PM, a designer, a developer to design and deliver a complete product in a few months.
Solution
Discovery, design of flows, information architecture, and UI of a complete PCF tool, from data ingestion to product reporting. At the heart of the product: an AI model that correlates production volume and emissions per product to recommend the most impactful levers, choice of emission factors, allocation rules, missing data. Scientifically validated by Quantis.
Result
3M MRR in acquisition generated. New revenue line opened for CO2 AI.
My Role
Sole designer on the squad. Designing the end-to-end experience, from discovery to delivery, in direct coordination with the PM and developer.
Overview of PCF progress
No complete PCF, no exchange. We allow each company to have a provisional score from the start, raw data, emission factors, and quality included. The AI correlates production volume and emissions to prioritize. It indicates whether the gain will come from a better emission factor, an allocation rule, or missing data.
Identify what blocks the PCF
An incomplete PCF blocks everything. We make visible what is missing, by category, so that each team knows exactly where to focus its efforts.
Find a product in the catalog
PCF status and data visible according to the catalog and the chosen version.
Product sheet, year by year
Each line is expandable to follow the details of the calculations. The transparency of the result is as important as the result itself.
Integrate a file, see the impact immediately
Data import is not an end in itself. We visualize what each file changes on the ongoing PCF.
Allocation rules, configurable and auditable
Without market reference, allocation rules are the key decision. The AI suggests the most suitable rules based on the product's emission profile.
